• No homework over the break. However you could review the year so far.

• Hand in your worksheet - both sides completed by THURSDAY to the sub. Don't forget to show your work!

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Had a unit midterm on Matter & Chemical Change. How was it?
• How can you prepare for your unit final?

ALL THE REST:

• You must complete the Darwin's Nightmare Assignment on Thursday & hand it in. This will be counted for your next report card.
• Don't forget to pick up your marked assignments.
• What are you missing? Did you check? This is your responsiblity.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Reviewed for our Mid-Term Exam.
• Review sia9 p173 - Do you know & understand all of the concepts?
• Make a small kwl chart for yourself.
• Do sia9 p175-176 #1-17.
• Reminder: Test on Wednesday.

ALL THE REST:

• It is YOUR responsibility to make sure you have handed everything in AND that YOUR NAME IS ON IT!!!!
• DO NOT try to hand in anything else before the break. I will not get it, I will not look at it.

• Did some on line experiments to help us understand molecular & ionic compounds & rates of chemical reactions. What did you learn?

• Had a POP quiz....it was thoughtful Thursday afterall!
• How did you do? What can you do better? There will be another next week before your final.
• Took notes on Dividing Monomials by Monomials.

• Do mp9 p165 #1-45 ALL. Hint: I REALLY REALLY like question #45.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Reviewed our c&r from yesterday.
• Talked about Conservation of Mass.
• Remember: Matter is neither created or destroyed. It may have been converted or transformed, but it is around there somewhere.
• Read, Understand & Notes sia9 p166-170. What do we mean by RATE of a chemical reaction?
• Sia9 p170 c&r #1-10.

• Open Day for Current Events tomorrow. Last chance for this term!

• Took notes on Multiplying a Monomial by a Monomial.
• Read & Understood mp9 p 160.
• Did the Inquire activity mp9 p160 #1-6 in a group. Explained it to Ms. Wilson for credit!
• Do mp9 p 161 #1-44 ALL.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Got our Terrific Tuesday Tests back. Was your mark terrific?
• Reviewed rules for naming molecular & ionic compounds. What is the difference?
• Talked about chemical reactions & physical changes.
• Read sia9 p163, do c&r p165 #1-10.

ALL THE REST:

• We didn't have a homework check today. But there will be one more before the end of the week.
• Independent learning.......you are getting better.

• Started Polynomials
• Took some notes!! Do you understand them?
• What is the degree of a monomial or polynomial?
• Read mp9 p147-148.
• Do mp9 p149 #1-37 ALL.
• Problem of the week #10 due tomorrow.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Talked about molecular and ionic compounds.
• Made a chart comparing them.
• How do we name the compounds? How do we write the formulas?
• Did sia9 p154 ayl #1-12. Don't forget to write down the question & have a proper title.

ALL THE REST:

• Should I really have to check your work before you leave the classroom?
• It doesn't sound like independent learning to me!
• An independent learner would use their class time wisely, & be respectful of their classmates' work environment.

• Worksheet, both sides....DO IT....it will help.
• Handed in our finger print analysis projects.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Read about ionic compounds - section 3.2 in sia9.
• Understood what we read and made notes.
• Did c&r at the end of section 3.2, #1-9.
• Found 15 vocabulary words, defined them, (term, definition, picture).
• Have you thought about how you would design a model of an ionic compound? What are the materials you will need?
