Over spring break:

  • Did review for our unit 6 final tomorrow. How is trigonometry?
  • Review mp9 p254 #1-16, p255 #3, 4, 6, 7, 10
  • Remember that when you are answering word problems it is best to DRAW yourself a diagram to make sure you UNDERSDTAND what the question is asking.
  • Work on your portfolio project!
  • Unit 6 - TRIGONOMETRY Final TOMORROW!
Today in SCIENCE we:
  • Reviewed our c&r and ayl on sia p342-343. You should have a COMPLETE & CORRECT answer for every question.
  • Read, Understand, Notes, sia9 p344-350.

  • To think about: energy transformation & energy transmission. What are they? How can your describe them?
  • Handed in our review posters
  • Worked on Portfolio Projects.

I hope it is going well this week. I am sorry I had to be away, but it was really important for me to do that.


I plan to be back next week, & I have several expectations upon my return:

Math:
  • To hear your trigonometry acronyms
  • Have your SIN work completed - worksheet 6.4 & Read mp9 p239-240, do mp9 p241 #1-34 ALL.
  • Your SINE quizzes completed.
  • Your COSIN inquire & activity HANDED IN mp9 p242.
  • COSIN work completed - worksheet 6.5 & mp9 #1-37 ALL.
  • "Test 1 & Extension" worksheet done.
  • We will work on solving right angle triangles on Monday AFTER our COSIN quiz.
  • Problem of the week #20 handed in.
Science:
  • Have read & done notes, sia9 p339-342, sia9 p342 c&r #1-8.
  • Hear your ideas from the decision making work, sia9 p 341.
  • Done sia9 p343 ayl #1-10, & the focus on science section #1-3
  • A finished Review poster that we can be PROUD to hang in the classroom, & shows what YOU have LEARNED.
  • Spelling quiz #18 with GREAT words.
Portfolio Projects:
  • You should have a good start on them. Some of you may be finished. It is your own work & I would like to see what you can come up with. Please ask if you need some specific supplies.
  • Remember they are due by Monday April 7th, 2008, but if you finish them before the break you will not have any homework over the break.
Current Events:
  • You should have done them on FRIDAY.
  • Make sure you have handed in your write ups.

  • What is meant by energy efficiency?

  • Talked about the Greek letter theta.
  • Got a handout - had ratios on one side, identifying parts of triangles on the other. Please complete.
  • Made our own triangles.....we can use these to study and while we are doing our homework.
  • Learned how to use our scientific calculators. Remember it has to be in the D, DEG or degree mode!
  • Did mp9 p 236 the inquire & activity & handed it in. What is the TANGENT ratio?

  • Chose our spelling words for quiz #17.
  • Are there any questions about electricity? Anything?
  • Who was Faraday?
  • How does a motor work?
  • What is a St. Louis Motor? Could you draw one?
